George Stavropoulos' obsession with music started at an early age. Influenced by his parent's old vinyl records that consisted of mainly Greek and 70's funk artists, he first laid his hands on a pair of turn tables at the age of 14. During this time, he started collecting all types of music including modern and traditional Greek, which he had grown up listening to. Two years later he joined a Mobile Disc Jocky company where he was the top working DJ being booked every weekend for Greek and private events around the bay area. It is at these types of events that helped him learn to read crowds and provide the music necessary to keep a dance floor packed. He got his break in the club scene at the age of 18 when one of San Francisco's top promoters, Tony Kutulas, asked him to come and spin at one of his monthly "Greek Nights" at a nightclub in San Francisco. The music at these nights consisted of new modern Greek, European and Greek house music, with a few small sets of hip-hop. After tearing up the monthly Greek Nights and gaining recognition in the Greek Community, Kutulas slowly started bringing him into the mainstream club market. It was during this time where the name DJ G-Stav was born and the rest is history. At the age of only 23, he holds residencies and spins at San Francsico's top prestigious night clubs. He has also played at clubs in Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Boston, New York City, Canada, Panama City and Greece. Experiencing the night club scene in Greece and through out Europe has pushed him more to becoming involved with house music and bringing that European/International nightlife back home to San Francisco. G-Stav brings house music directly from Europe that may be unfamiliar at the moment but some of the most popular at the moment in these countries where house music is prominent. Some would describe his style as International Euro Mediterranean sexy funky disco deep soulful Latin house with a splash of progressive. Recently he has taken his career to the next level in producing Greek and Club events in and around San Francisco.
